Lead Single “Too Old To Die Young” Out Now at Radio!

Nashville, Tenn. - Prior to his unexpected passing earlier this summer, Bluegrass icon Bobby Osborne recorded a brand new project alongside critically-acclaimed singer/mandolinist C.J. Lewandowski (The ‘Po Ramblin’ Boys). The first offering from the upcoming collection is the lead single “Too Old To Die Young,” which is officially out now at radio! “If you were to ask me if I would have ever expected to be recording an album with Bobby Osborne, I would have told you that you needed to get your head checked! At the time of these recordings, Bobby was 91-years-old and singing better than most people 1/3 his age,” says Lewandowski. “These are special moments and I feel so blessed to have captured our friendship on recording. ‘Too Old To Die Young’ was initially supposed to be released at the end of June, but with Bobby’s death I really had to sit down and figure out what I was supposed to do.”


He adds, “One night on my front porch, I heard Bobby tell me to keep on keeping on, and that's what I had to do. I considered him one of my best friends, and I will never forget him, his smile, his kindness, his natural talent. I hope listeners enjoy our recorded efforts of what Bobby wanted to do. He always loved Paul Brewster and Terry Eldridge singing ‘Too Old’ on the Osborne Brothers live shows, but never got to record it, until now."


The full album, titled Keep On Keepin’ On, is expected to release on December 7th via Turnberry Records. The day also marks the late Bobby Osborne’s birthday, where he would have turned 92-years-old. In total, there are ten new recordings featured on the collection, plus one special tribute track to honor the life and legacy of the “Rocky Top” singer.


On the forthcoming single, it channels the spirit that made the Osborne Brothers a household name, and led them to become one of the quintessential acts of the Bluegrass genre. Pair Bobby’s unmistakable vocals with The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys founder C.J. Lewandowski, and the result is a heartfelt song that is sure to catch the attention of listeners instantly. Written by Scott Dooley, John Hadley and Kevin Welch, the song has deep roots in the Country and American Music worlds. Notable versions of the track over the years come from top acts like Moe Bandy, Linda Rondstadt and more.
